Asus Transformer Prime
The Asus Transformer Prime is arguably the most anticipated tablet ever. This is because it is the sequel to the Asus Transformer, a tablet that has revolutionized what we expect from Android tablets. The Asus Transformer Prime will be released December 19th.
Build of the Asus Transformer Prime
Lets start off this section with a few pictures.

As you can see, the Asus Transformer Prime has a very sleek chrome like build to it. It has an optional detachable keyboard similar to what the Asus Transformer had. The TF201 is actually thinner then the iPad 2. Asus announced it is going to 8.35 mm thick, which is almost unheard of in the tablet market.
Connectivity wise the Asus Transformer Prime is going to have a microSD card slot and a mini HDMI port. It is also for sure going to have Bluetooth and Wi-Fi capabilities. It is expected to have a later launch with 3G capabilities. The release date depends on when the FCC approves the 3G connectivity. Overall the build is absolutely beautiful.
It has now been confirmed that the Transformer Prime will have 12 hours of battery life without the keyboard dock and up to 18 hours of battery life with the keyboard dock.
Display of the Asus Transformer Prime
The display will be stunning on the Asus Transformer Prime. The screen will be a 10.1 inch IPS 1280×800 display which should produce very vibrant colors. It also will allow the user to read very minuscule text on the screen. The brightness of the screen of the Asus Transformer was never an issue so we don’t expect it to be an issue with this tablet. The battery life is suppose to 14 hours for this tablet when it is running on high performance. The 14 hours is with the keyboard dock, so just tablet itself will probably have around 7 hours of battery life.
Hardware of the Asus Transformer Prime
This is another area that the Asus TF201 is ahead of the rest of the market in. The Asus Transformer Prime will have a NVIDIA Kal-El Quad Core chip under the hood (also known as the Tegra 3). The name looks formidable enough, but this processor can do some real damage. The processor actually has five cores. According to NVIDIA, this processor is capable of up to 2 GHz of symmetric performance all the while keeping power consumption in mind. The internal storage for this tablet is going to be 16 GB initially, we aren’t sure if Asus is going to release different models based on memory. It will also have 1 GB of RAM.
Software on the Asus Transformer Prime
The TF201 will be the first tablet released with Google’s brand new Android 4.0 download available. This is an operating system that has been developed for both tablets and smart phones. Google has been trying to unite the two types of devices under one operating system that was engineered with both in mind. There are quite a few new features on Android 4.0 such as Face Unlock. This uses face recognition software to unlock your device. Handy, eh?
Android also redid the user interface and created resizable widgets. If you want to read more on the new features of Android 4.0 click the red text.
